Weather

Wow - this weather has been so unlike it is supposed to be.  We have been in the 80s and it is October!  I love having the windows open and Justice loves being outside all the time.

Work is crazy, but I am learning more and more all the time.  It is weird to be 36 and constantly learning.

Scare

While mowing the lawn yesterday, something bit me on the neck. There had been a bee flying around my face, so I freaked out a little. For those that do not know, I almost died 10 years ago from a bee sting. I was the 3rd worst case seen in that emergency room and I carry an EpiPen in my purse. So, I started freaking out because I could not see what had bit me and I could not see what my neck looked like. So, I started having trouble breathing. My issue was that I did not know if I was having trouble breathing because I was stung by a bee or because I was hyper-ventilating from panic. So, I called Ed and my dad and managed to calm down. I was ready to stick myself with the EpiPen and call 911. The breathing never got that difficult, and once I calmed down all was good. Except, I was EXHAUSTED!!!!

Needless to say, no baking this weekend and I am going to hear all about it at work. They have gotten used to Monday being "Indulge with Stacy" cupcake day.

Saturday

What a great day/night I just had. Thanks to Amanda & Nicole!!! Got up early on Saturday morning and met up the girls and we hit the road. Where to? Yellow Springs, OH - AKA Hippie Town! It was time for the Street Fair - a lot of people watching, junk food eating, and looking/buying cool stuff. We spent 3 hours walking around town, eating and shopping. I saw things that made me laugh all morning.

After, Nic headed home for awhile and Amanda and I headed out to do some more shopping. We went to Hobby Lobby, Sam's Club, Arrow Liquor, Steve & Barry's and Meijer. Whew!

Jarling came over with Cleo, her beautiful dog. We needed to see if Justice & Cleo got along so that Cleo could stay with us later this week. She will be ours Thursday - Monday. She has a totally different personality than Justice, way laid back.



Nic arrived around 5:30, Jarling left and we all started drinking. Bloody Marys - yummy!! We made crab hush puppies and grilled steaks. We drank for hours and then watched a movie - The Golden Compass. The book was much better, but not a bad movie. of course, it all looks good when 3 people finish a bottle of vodka!

Rain Day

Today is a rainy day. It is dark and cold and wet. I am at work 7-3:30pm and am ready for bed. It is only 7:20am but I want to go to bed and sleep for 15 hours. I have been unable to get a full night sleep in I do not remember how long. I am waking up multiple times during the night and it takes me up to 30 minutes to fall asleep each time. It pretty much sucks!

Beautiful!

I LOVE Fall. The air is crisp, the leaves are changing colors, and I feel good! Things have been hectic here. We had a showing scheduled last Sunday, but they cancelled. Oh well, just another disappointment with the house. Work is ridiculous!! It is busier than ever and we are about 20 people down in my department, which means we are all working harder. It makes the days go by fast, but I am exhausted every night and just want to sleep all day long. I think that I am running myself down. I believe that I am coming down with something and am looking forward to relaxing all weekend. Except, we have another wedding in Lansing.

Oh, the "Bookery" (as my little sis calls it) is going well. I tried out some new cupcake recipes this week on people at work. They devoured them! I am excited to try out even more.

Starting Over

Went to the gym this morning. Was able to do 10 minutes on the elliptical and then did upper body and abs. Had an english muffing, yogurt and banana for breakfast. Lunch is going to be a Lean Cuisine and an apple. Dinner is salad with celery and cucumbers. Snacks will be grapes and goldfish crackers.

I am thinking of changing the name of my bakery / bookstore to "Indulge" instead of "Indulgence." Any thoughts on the name, or suggestions for other names?

New Venture

I am starting a new business - cupcakes! I have a name for the bakery / bookstore - it is "Indulgence." For now, the bookstore will have to wait. But, I have started on the bakery portion. I may have my first catering job - a wedding!!

Not much to say

Spent 1 1/2 hours cleaning up the yard on Wednesday. What a mess! The rest of the week has been boring. Just get up, go to work, go home, walk Justice, watch a little tv, read, go to bed.

Ed is staying in Lansing this weekend. Which means Justice and I will be staying home by ourselves. This is fine - I can relax, clean house, take Justice to the dog park, and maybe do a little grocery shopping.

Hurricane Ike

Well, Ohio got hammered by Ike. We had no rain, but we got the hurricane force winds. It was gusting through the state at 70mph - it was like a hurricane without the water. I had to drive through it on my way home from Michigan on Sunday. It was VERY difficult to keep the Jeep on the road. It was definitely the most scared I have ever been driving a car. Our neighborhood looks like a disaster zone. Luckily, we have no damage. Just a few branches on the ground. Others were not so lucky - trees uprooted, roof damage, no power. Our county has declared a state of emergency and people are still without power. In fact, I am storing some food in my freezer for a co-worker who has no electricity and she only lives 2 minutes from my house.



This is a picture of my next door neighbor's front yard. His is not too bad, two doors down, around the corner, there are a couple of houses with whole trees laying down.

At Last

The DJ played our song: "At Last" by Etta James. It was the first time we had danced to it in a VERY long time. Getting to spend this time with my husband was well worth the drive and spending the weekend in an apartment. I am very lucky and blessed to have him in my life. I waited a long time to find the one for me and I did - at last!
