Worth it?

Sometimes I wonder if it is worth keeping this blog up. There is really not a whole lot going on. However, I hope that what we do write is read by our friends and family who are happy to get a glimpse into what we are up to.

We had a pretty relaxing weekend. Ed was in Ft. Wayne working until Friday night. Saturday, I met up with some girls from work and learned how to knit. I know, a little hokey, but it will be nice to make my own scarves and hats for the fall/winter. Sunday, Ed want disc golfing. He met some new people and may actually join a league. It is nice seeing him get out and make friends. I know that it has been hard on him being away from friends and family.

On Monday, we headed out to John Bryan State Park. It was a great afternoon! Justice carried his new saddlebags like a champ. He carried the cell phone, car keys, treats and a collapsible water bowl. He also got to play in a river for the first time. He LOVES the water! We walked about 3 miles - we were there for about 3 1/2 hours. Then we came home and did yard work. I mowed the back yard and Ed handled weed whipping and trimming trees/bushes.

We are sorry that we missed everyone this weekend. We are planning to come visit as soon was we here when Grandpa and Grandma will be in town and when Dave will be returning from Iraq.

The Cincinnati Zoo

Today was the LexisNexis Employee Picnic - it was at the Cincy Zoo. We got there at 9am, right when they opened and walked around until 12n when they served lunch. After lunch, we spent another couple of hours walking around. I think we left around 3pm. It was so much fun. Their website is: www.cincyzoo.org and if you have a chance, you should visit. It took us about 45 minutes from our house.

We started at the elephants and made our way around. The polar bears were huge, the manatees were amazing. I cannot believe how graceful manatees are, considering their size. They are HUGE! We saw white lions, white tigers, black bears, red hogs, flamingos (that were more white than pink) and so many other things. We look forward to taking visitors there. It is not too expensive, unless you want to eat. I think we will take a backpack with sandwiches and water on our next visit.

There are more pictures on flickr. And, of course, Stacy will be doing a scrapbook of our visit.

Pride is the one word that came to mind when we saw this amazing bald eagle.

The best part of the reptile house. They did not look like they wanted to wrap around our necks and squeeze.

Yes, that is fresh blood in the bowl. Ed thought it was so cool, he took a couple of pics of the bats eating.

Weekend Plans

Well, Stacy is working her last Saturday!!!! Tomorrow, we are headed to the Cincinnati Zoo. Stacy's employer is throwing an employee picnic on Sunday. It is Zoo Babies time and we are looking forward to seeing all of the new arrivals. The zoo just had an history making 3rd baby rhino! Look for pictures tomorrow.

Looks like Ed is heading back to Ft. Wayne next week. Not sure how long he will be gone. However, with next weekend being a holiday, we are hoping he will be home Friday night or Saturday morning. At this time, we have no plans for Memorial Day weekend. Apparently, Ed's grandparents may be visiting from Texas. If that is the case, we will be heading to Lansing to hang out with family.

On this day, Justice just walked into the bathroom and stepped into the tub. Here, he is waiting the 5 minutes for his shampoo to do its thing.

Ed planted quite a few impatients in one of the flower boxes out front. He surrounded the burning bush with orange, white and red flowers. This was taken at night.

New Schedule

Stacy's schedule is changing. Starting the week of May 20th, she will no longer work weekends, and her hours will change. Instead of being 1:30p-10p, she will be working 11:30a-8p. It is going to be great to have her home on the weekends!

Random Thoughts

It has been awhile since we have updated our blog. Why? Not really a whole lot going on. We are both working, and that is about it. I thought I (Stacy) would share some of my random thoughts with everyone.

Gas prices - how high are they going to go? Is anyone else freaked out?

Grey's Anatomy - Did anyone else watch last night's episode and feel let down? Two hours, I could not wait to see it and then "that's it?" Okay, I was shocked that they killed Meredith's stepmom and to have her dad slap her and say "I trusted you!" That was more than I was expecting. The rest, not so great. WAit, that is a lie - George and Izzy in the elevator!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS! However, I am getting a little tired of the wedding issues between Burke and Christina. Will Burke call it off? And we have a little disagreement here at work about Addison - at the end of the show, was she driving towards Seattle or the beach?

Life - is this what I want to be when I grow up? I am a lawyer, who does not practice. I keep thinking I should have done what I wanted to do first, go to medical school. Is it too late?

Job - Do I love it here? No. Do I like it? sometimes. Why am I here? Benefits, steady paycheck, no work to bring home, co-workers that I do love. What am I doing about it? nothing right now, I still owe them 1 year on my contract.

Have you had enough? I have, for now.
