Billy Mays

No more getting yelled at during commercials. Sad day that yet another person has gone from this world.

Sad Day

It was a sad day yesterday after losing an Angel and then the "King of Pop." Michael Jackson defined my generation when it came to music. I grew up listening to him and The Jackson Five. I had every album he did when I was younger and I think I remember owning lots of pins for my jean jacket with his face on them. I had posters of him on my bedroom wall. Fame changed him - physically and mentally. No matter what the news stories said, he was still MJ and I will miss him.

My Day

What a great birthday! So many wishes of "Happy Birthday" on my Facebook. It was a great, lazy day. We did not even leave the house til about 12:30pm. Then we headed to the mall - North Fairfield. We had lunch at Red Lobster, where I had crab legs, of course, and Ed, who does not like seafood, had the Cajun Chicken Fettucine Alfredo and a LOT of biscuits.

We walked around the mall for a couple of hours and spent some time at the pet store. I had no idea what I wanted for my birthday, and it was driving Ed crazy. After awhile, we headed home and then made a quick decision to head to Best Buy. I finally figured out what I wanted - the soundtrack to "Transformers." The first movie, not the new one that opens today. However, they were sold out. So, I have to wait.

For dinner, we did Wing Zone and a store bought cake. It was perfect! This was just the day I needed.

Ed is coming home!!

WOO HOO! Ed is moving back home this weekend. It has been over a year since he headed up to Lansing to work for Dennis. Of course, this was with the thought that I would find a job in Michigan and we could be closer to friends and family. However, things did not quite work out as planned.

As you know, we are heading to Kansas City, Missouri. Even though Ed is heading back to Ohio, we will only live together for about 2-3 weeks. Then, I am off to KC alone. I will be living in an apartment, looking for a house, learning the city, and starting my new career.

It is all so scary and exciting and overwhelming. I want to be really excited, but I know that family and friends are sad. We will miss being able to just drive up and say "Hi." This is going to make holidays harder, but more special. And, we will have a guest room all set up for those who make the trip to see us.

Not so gentle reminder...

Justice gave me a not so gentle reminder to get his nails clipped. I regret, as does my face, waiting so long to head to the vet. Appointment at 2:30!!

State Park

Yesterday was a beautiful, but warm day. Justice and I headed to the State Park for a nice walk. It is about 2 miles all the way around, I think. We made one stop so Justice could hang out in the river. It was really nice to get out of the house and enjoy the weather. It started getting crowded as we were leaving, so we timed our visit perfectly.

No news...

is supposed to be good news. Well, not in our case. We have not had a showing in 2 weeks!!!! WTF? We dropped the price by almost $5,000, you would think someone would jump at the chance. I just do not understand. And, it is not like I have the choice to take it off the market and try again later. I have to be in KC in July, which means Ed moves here and I move there and we are apart again. AAAUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
