Chronic Pain

Well, it has been almost 4 weeks since I woke up with the neck pain. I was taking ibuprofen like it was going out of style. And, it did nothing to help. I had to take an over the counter sleeping pill every night to get a little bit of sleep. The doctor has put me on Flexiril, a muscle relaxer. Unfortunately, it makes me fall asleep for a minimum of 4 hours. So, I cannot take it during the day. The doctor says that I am lucky it was just my left side hurting, as my muscles are all tight from shoulder to shoulder.

Yesterday was one of the worst days. Today, it has moved into my left shoulder and I can barely lift my arm. I see the doctor again in a week. What sucks as much as the pain is the fact I am not allowed to go to boot camp or run until I see her again on the 14th. My membership at BootCamp and the gym both run out the 15th. So, I wasted my money on Groupons I cannot use.

I wish I could figure out what I did to my neck. Hoping the doctor can figure it out & fix it. Not sure how much longer I can go on with this.

My Christmas Spirit is lacking. In fact, I am feeling quite Scroogey this year. I have no desire to decorate and did not plan on sending Christmas cards. The thought of doing shopping and spending money makes me cringe. However, the thought of spending days in the kitchen baking cookies and cupcakes makes me smile. I have a few new recipes I want to try and they will all be featured on my food blog (www.stacysindulgence.blogspot.com) so be sure and take a look.

Ed has convinced me to send cards to family. Please do not feel we forgot you or do not love you if you do not see a card this year. Who knows, maybe my Christmas Spirit will decide to show up.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving was spent with my two guys and our friend, Sarah. We ate and watch football and ate and laughed. Ed & Sarah ended up taking a nap on the couch while Justice & I spent a little time outside. We were sad to not be with family, but we were so happy to be together.

Good Weekend

It was a pretty fabulous weekend. Saturday was a lot of running around getting errands done because we knew Sunday would be a lazy day.

Sunday was great. We got up early and headed out to Cliff Drive for the 25th Annual Cliff Hanger 5K/8K. I was running my first 5K and I was nervous. Thank goodness I had Ed there to be my cheering section. He decided it was a good idea to bring the camera, so see below. Official Race Results: 42:21:5, 15th out of 32 in my age group and 420th overall!!

After the race it was time for the pancake breakfast.

Intimidation Technique

Justice has learned to jump up on the windowsill and take a look at the world outside. Anytime he hears the jingle of a dog collar, he goes running to the window. I think he is trying to intimidate the neighborhood dogs. He looks HUGE - and the windowsill is 3 feet off the ground.

Tigers vs Royals

We got great seats to the Tigers/Royals game on Friday night. The Tigers had me pissed off for a bit, but they came back to win it!! The Stadium is beautiful and there was so much food to choose from. We were super close to the field, so that made the experience even better.

I LOVE this yogurt blend from Edy's. It is so yummy and refreshing. They only have it in single serving sizes, but I guess that is good. If I had a big container, it would be done in no time.

Addiction Help Needed

So, I have a bad day and what happens? I go to Borders and buy & buy & buy! I am writing this hoping Ed does not read it. Why? He begs and pleads with me to go to the library. But, I do that, too! In fact, after my last appointment, I am heading to the library to pick up a book I have on hold. I think it is a serious problem, but I don't seem to care!! I love walking into Borders and saying to myself: "What shall I buy today?" What have I bought recently?

After the dog park

After 2 hours at the dog park, we headed to PetSmart to buy some food and get him more attention :-) We were out of the house for about 4 hours and I would say that he is tuckered out!! Check out the picture above.

Penn Valley Dog Park

My Birthday

I had a great birthday dinner thanks to my new friends Julee, David, and Bailey! Julee made a fantabulous dinner of Filet Mignon, White Truffle Mashed Potatoes, and a Chocolate Souffle. It was so delicious! The best part? Playing with Bailey, an adorable 2 year black lab. She was so super sweet and loved playing and giving lots of kisses. She reminds me a LOT of Justice, so it was, by far, the best birthday present I could have gotten.

Farewell Touchdown Jesus

Touchdown Jesus burned to the ground last night. Apparently, it was struck by lightning. The trip between Dayton & Cincinnati will never be the same.
