Crazy Weather

A Few Days Ago
Today

The weather has been a little crazy the past week. As you can see from above, we went for a lot of snow to Justice hanging out on the deck in the sunshine. I love being able to have a window open in the kitchen and hearing the birds sing. Justice, as much as he loves laying on the deck in the sun, is missing the snow. I think if we moved South, he would be depressed in the winter.

Winter Storm

We had quite a storm yesterday and last night and today. We got a TON of snow and about 2 inches of ice. It was crazy. We had more than 1/2 of our staff call out today. Thank goodness for my 4 wheel drive. I cruised to work with no problems!

It took me 1 1/2 hours to shovel the driveway today. Missing Ed - he could have done it a lot quicker. It was actually quite beautiful and I love it! Justice adores the snow, but not a fan of the ice that coated everything.

Changes

I started back at the gym yesterday. It was my first day there since the knee surgery last July. It was harder going in there than I thought. I started on the elliptical, and HATED it! It actually hurt my knee, so I headed to the treadmill to walk. I walked for 5 minutes, ran for 5 minutes, walked for 10 minutes. Yep, pushed it and am paying for it. My knee is throbbing this morning!

Damages

So, I have been working 3rd shift a couple of days this week. It is difficult to stay awake, as the phone does not ring much. Thank goodness for my laptop and wireless internet. I have been watching the 1st season of "Damages" on fxnetwork.com and I am in LOVE with it!! I spend every episode sitting on the edge of my seat. The 2nd season started this week and I am avoiding any spoilers.

Calling all readers

I have decided that this is my year to read the classics. I am currently reading "Pride & Prejudice" and will move on to "Anna Karenina." I am asking for suggestions on classics to read this year.

Pictures

Took a few pics of Justice with his favorite toy - the blue puppy. Oh, and it finally started snowing. I hear that Michigan got HAMMERED!! We had rain on Saturday and now it is snowing.

Sickness

Finally, after 3 days, I am feeling good. I am not sure what I had, but I am glad the sickness is gone. All I did was lay on the couch, take naps, and watch television. Apparently, my body hates January - it was this time last year I was really sick with the flu. I hate having to use sick time so early in the year, but glad that I am able to do it.

Believe the hype?

I just finished reading "Twilight" and it was okay. What is funny is that I did not love it, but I could not stop reading it. It was like I wanted to stop, but I wanted to see what would happen next. I stayed up late and finished it, now I am going to read "New Moon" and see how it progresses. My friend Amanda are reading them and comparing notes. She reads it first and then passes it to me.

I just read the new Patricia Cornwell book, "Scarpetta" and I LOVED it!!!! That was an awesome book and I could not put it down. I read it in about 2 days. If you have never read this author, you are missing out.

Time keeps on slipping...

Hard to believe that it is the 7th of January already. I know it does not seem like I should be so shocked, but I had plans for where I would be already. Those plans just keep on falling through and the future is not headed in the right direction. Okay, maybe it is the direction God has planned for me, but I do not see the positive in that right now. I live paycheck to paycheck, and I really thought that by now I would be a little more comfortable. Hell, I am 36 years old and I feel like a college kid. I hate being in debt, but cannot figure out how to get out of debt. There are many plans out there that people use, but who knows if they work. We have things planned for this year, and we need to be financially solvent for these things to work. Maybe this is not the place to bitch & moan, but I feel the need to vent. Who ever thinks that in their 30s they would still be trying to stay above water? I swore that I would never end up like my parents, trying to figure out how to pay bills, living paycheck to paycheck, wishing for a better job. I want to love my job, I want to love going to work everyday, I want to be happy with my decisions and feel that I have done something good.

Another year over...

And a new one's just begun. Wow, so much happened in 2008 - some good, some bad. I, however, am so glad that it is over and it is a new start for all.

I am still in Ohio, trying to sell the house and find a new job. Ed is still livng & working in Michigan. We try to see eachother as often as we can, but schedules are getting in the way. Luckily, we were able to spend the holidays together.

This year is going to be great! I received the all clear from the surgeon so I can head back to the gym, I have people who are ordering cupcakes, and we are happy. We hope all of you have a happy and blessed 2009!
