Happy Punctuation Day!!!!!!!!!

Today, September 24th, marks the 6th annually celebrated punctuation day.. So, don't be afraid to mark it up!!!!!! And please don't confused it with emoticon day, that was September 19th!!! ;P

NPD is celebrated in schools and businesses throughout the world with activities, games, programs, and contests. It has inspired people to pay attention not only to their p’s and q’s, but also their commas, semicolons, and ellipses. NPD reminds us of the importance of proper punctuation for communicating clearly at home, school, or at work.

NPD has received worldwide media attention since former newspaperman Jeff Rubin founded the holiday in 2004, with newspaper coverage from Manila to London and from Seoul to Seattle, in addition to broad radio and TV coverage in the United States—including a short segment on Regis and Kelly in 2008.

NPD is recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events and listed in its sister publication, The Teacher’s Calendar, two directories published by McGraw-Hill.

What a week

It is going to be a crazy week, crazy two weeks! And, I am really looking forward to it. This weekend is the Plaza Art Fair, which is just blocks from my house. Also, I may be heading out to Lake Waukomis to meet some people.

Next week, I am heading to Kansas on business - Overland Park & Topeka. And, to Springfield, Missouri. It will be a lot of driving and I am looking forward to meeting more clients.

Thinking

Sitting here in Kansas City, I have had time to think. I am wondering if I made the right choice. My job is okay, it is busy, it is disappointing, it is confusing, it is so many things. I know that this is not something I want to do forever, but is it even something I want to do now. I need to make a decision and I just cannot seem to do so. I have started going to church, I am making friends, I am getting to know my way around. It is a great town, and there is so much to do. Apparently, there is something in the water that makes people run. Everytime I turn around, there is someone running, and I feel like I need to take up running to fit in even more.

What is the answer? I know that I cannot ask anyone to tell me what to do. I just need to figure out what is best for all of us, what is best for me. Who knows, maybe all will change when we sell the house and can all be together. Being alone at night leaves the mind wide open to think and that can be a good thing, or a bad thing.

Of course, I wonder what would be different in my life if I had taken a different path than what I did. I know that having Ed in my life has made it better, and I cannot imagine my life without him. But will he be proud of me if I quit everything and make a change?

Welcome Carter!

My new Betta fish, Carter. I needed a pet in my apartment, and this is the only thing that seemed to fit. He is very pretty - the pictures do not do him justice.

Yummy!

My new favorite ice cream!! It is locally made and it is delish!

9/11

This video is on YouTube and it makes me cry everytime I see it. I had been in bed for only an hour after working 3rd shift in the ER in Virginia. My roomie came in to wake me up and I did not believe him. He was insistent, so I got up, looked at the tv and never went back to bed for 3 days. I went to work that night just praying for us to get survivors. We had fighter jets flying over our house, as we were only a couple hours from the Pentagon. It is a day that I will never forget, a day that will always bring tears and anger and heartbreak.

Fireworks!!

Labor Day

Wow, what a night! We headed to Cincy/Newport to watch the 33rd annual Labor Day fireworks show put on my 102.7. It was packed and there was a lot of people watching going on.

Game Day

The boys were very excited about opening day for Michigan. I was disappointed at the result, but glad that Ed was excited. It was a good day.
