Possibility??

I am lucky enough to be the Maid of Honor for Cathy and Russ on April 10th. As usual, I am procrastinating. I have not bought my dress yet. This is the one that Cathy really likes. I know that I want to wear blue, but not sure if I want the Marine (on the left) or the Horizon (on the right). So, if anyone has any opinion, let me know. I know there is not much difference, but I want to really & truly be able to wear this dress again. It is beautiful, and it is just one of my choices. I am doing my shopping this weekend and through next week.

I want to eat this...

This looks so yummy! I found the recipe on www.bakerella.com and am ready to make it. But, I know that I am the only one here to eat it. So, I am going to hold off until I am back in Dayton.

Until then, I get to drool.

Sister Weekend

This is Andrea. She is my Munchkin and I love her very much. She will be graduating from Western Michigan University on May 1st and I am so proud of her!! She had a long weekend, so drove down to spend it in Kansas City with me and it was so much fun. We shopped and ate and rescued Kevin. She even convinced me to go out on the town. We headed to Ernie Biggs Piano Bar in Westport.

We spent way too much money, but it was so much fun. She even taught me to crochet and I have a small project going. I will post it when it is finished. She made a sleep sack for Kevin to sleep in, and he/she is in it all the time!

Thank you, Munchkin, for a wonderful and unforgettable time!

Meet Kevin

This is Kevin! Andrea and I rescued him today!!!He is a rat. It appears that someone decided that they did not want him anymore so they put him outside. He was living in the bushes in front of my apartment, and I was feeding him for a couple of days. I decided that it was my duty to rescue him and give him a warm, dry place to live and regular food and water. So, today I went shopping for a cage, bedding, food and a water bottle. We went outside to catch him, which was a crazy time. Andrea has pictures! Now, he is happy and warm. He confirmed he was a pet when I put the water bottle in the cage and he immediately went over and started drinking. He is super cute, for a rat. I still cannot touch him, but I am hoping to get over my fear soon.

Quotes of the Day

Military Quote of the Day: "When I joined the military it was illegal to be homosexual, then it became optional. I'm getting out before it becomes mandatory."

Walt Whitman: "Be curious, not judgmental."

Harry S. Truman: "It's a recession when your neighbour loses his job: it's a depression when you lose yours."

Conan O'Brien: "Scientists say because of global warming they expect the world's oceans to rise four and a half feet. The scientists say this can mean only one thing - Gary Coleman is going to drown."

Farewell, Daddy

This is so sad. I cannot imagine what Cesar, the Dog Whisperer, is going through. If we lost Justice, I would be devastated. This dog, Daddy, was a great example of how a dog is what they are trained to be, not what the breed "dictates" they should be.

Orlando

The view from our hotel room in Orlando. It is the only part of Orlando that I got to see.

This is what I left before I went to Orlando

Ruminating

I have been in KC now for almost 9 months. I really thought that we would be living in the same house by now. I thought I would know my job better. I thought I would be better, healthier, skinnier. UGH! I am thinking that I need to quit my job. Unfortunately, in this economy, there is not a plethera of jobs out there for me to get. If anyone has the winning numbers for the lotto, let me know.

Happy Valentine's Day

To the love of my life - though we may be far apart, you are always in my heart. I will love you forever, and always be grateful that we are together. I do not know why you chose me, but am so glad that you did & am eternally happy.

Okay, now that the requisite rhyming is done...I love you. I am so glad that you are mine. I cannot imagine what life would be like without you. Please know that you are in my thoughts every single day.
