Sorry for the delay. Things have been a little hectic. Two weeks ago, we went up to Michigan for the weekend. Our 4 1/2 hour drive ended up being 6 hours because of traffic!! We stayed in Lansing, but drove to Kalamazoo on Saturday. There was a going away party for Uncle Arend. He was being shipped out with the Navy. He left on the 17th. It was really great seeing the family, but it was awkward. It made it quite clear that I do not have a lot in common with much of my family, and that makes me sad. The cousins all used to be close, and a lot of us have drifted apart.
We spent Sunday with Mom & Dad in Lansing. Hanging out in the pool. Oh, we discovered Justice can definitely swim. He fell into the deep end and swam his way to the shallow end and up the steps. It was scary and then it was hilarious!!
Last Sunday, Ed & I rode our bikes on the bike path near our house. We ended up doing a round trip of just over 22 mile! I decided that I need to buy a padded seat, and maybe some padded bike shorts. It was a lot of fun, and I am pretty darn proud of us.
This weekend, Daddy & Andrea, and maybe Lori, are coming for a visit. Daddy had surgery on his elbow and has some time off so thought he would come down and recuperate with us. Andrea is getting ready for her sophmore year at WMU, so we will not see much of her after this weekend.
The kitchen sink broke. We have some plumbing issues, so thank goodness we have paper plates. Normally it would not be a huge deal, but the dishwasher is also broken. Oh, and we just had to replace the dryer. Sometimes, being a homeowner really sucks.
Good news??!!! I got promoted! I am now a Senior Legal Research Associate at LN.

Dayton Air Show
Well, we decided to go to the Dayton Air Show yesterday. It was our first in a very long time. We saw some amazing planes on the ground and in the air. We ate some delicious food, Ed had his first funnel cake! Then, tragedy struck. A plane that was performing crashed into the runway. There was a blackhawk helicopter on site that tried to get the pilot to the hospital, but he died en route. His name was Jim Leroy and he leaves behind a wife and young son.
